Review: Shills Crystal White Hydrating Treatment

bought this tub of moisturiser fr sunnanz last yr for less than $20. its selling at $30+ @ the sasa in sg if im not wrong. was attracted to it cos it resembles h20+ oasis treatment, the pirated version haha. they seriously look v similar, except for the texture. ive used it for my neck rather than face cos i still dint dare to apply it on my face, im q a brand conscious person when it comes to my face =p

ingredients: deionised water, dimethicome, glycerine, aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, sea weed extract, chamomile& cucumber extract, arbutin, lavender, propylparaben, carbomer

it claims to be a whitening and moisturising gel that hydrates the skin while firming and diminishing the appearance of fine line, prevents from new spots appearance. achieve a clear, balanced and lasting matte complexion.

after finishing 90% of the tub, i don really see any whitening effect for my neck at least. not so sure of the firming part though. there is a slight scent, which does nt smell natural, but i dont find it unpleasant too. the texture is gel like, not as watery as h2o+ oasis. im able to spread it easily on my neck, bt it dint really leave it smooth, there is a very plastic after feel. it din leave a sticky feeling though.

since i din use on my face, i cant really gauge the effects, but i dont tnk im gg to repurchase since ive gt better options ard. =p

1 thing for sure is its really absorbed in by my neck cos i dont feel it being washed off evy morning when i shower.

Review: Hand Cream Showdown - H2o+ Nature Spring, Milk and Spa

bought h2o+ travel sized pack last dec. five 30ml tubes for $25, q worth if one wanna try their hand cream, esp when the sizes for their handcream is nt exactly portable. they come in pump and v big tubes only.

tried 3 ‘flavors’ : natural spring, milk & spa, spa is their best seller for hand cream if im nt wrong. a 30ml tube can last me for like 2-3mths when i used it daily, i apply at least 2x/day when i go to school.

Round1: Ingredients

Natural spring: vitamin & mineral rich marine extracts, aloe vera and provitamin B. silk protein and vitamin E to help nourish nails and cuticles. sea fennel, wakamem and sea lettuce are in the list too.

Milk: milk protein and hydrolzed silk help fortify nails and cuticles. vitamins A, D, E and provitamin B blend with seaweed and mikl thistle to help hydrate.

spa: silk protein and vitamin E help nourish nails. vitamin and mineral rich marine extracts, aloe vera and panthenol help restore moisture. sea fennel, wakamem and sea lettuce are in the list too.

the ingredients look gd right! i tnk Spa has a combi of marine extracts and proteins, so i guess in terms of ingredients, spa seem to be the best, milk wil be 2nd.

Round 2: Scent

they all smell horrible! but ive friends who think they smell ok, so i guess its subjective. i think spa smell the best, milk the 2nd. my friend agrees with me. and i tnk the scent is q strong, cos whenever i apply in a enclosed area, my tutees would complain haha.

Round 3: Moisture

i tried them 1 after another, meaning 1 tube after 1 tube; im on my 3rd tube (spa) now. i feel that spa is able to moisturise my dry hands better, milk 2nd. but still, they cant really satisfy my ultimate dry hands, esp when im in air-con room. within 5min, my hands feel dry again and i usu need to apply 2x in a row >.<>only happen in air con room though.

Verdict: a v clear cut win by spa, and 2nd for milk. i wont repurchase cos i really dislike the scent and they are not the most moisturing handcream tt ive tried so far, ahava is my fave for now. but if u do not really have dry hands, u can gif it a try cos the ingredients really look impressive haha! its v affordable too, if i dint rmb wrongly, a big tube (200ml i tnk) of spa cost $21 only.

one thing to tak note when u are buying h20+ stuff in Sg — look @ the expiry dates of the pdts you are buying. im rather annoyed and upset abt this cos i bought the hand cream in dec 09, but the manufactured dates were actually 2008. tts like almost 2yrs apart! im q pissed cos i prefer ‘fresh’ pdts. i believe the efficacy wil decrease as time goes by, so the furthest i can accept is 6mths fr the date i bought it. since the h2o+ hand cream were manufactured so long ago, it made it q impossible for me to keep them for long too tts why im trying so hard to finish them even though i dont really lk it im q disappointed with this actually. if drugstore brands can do it, i dont see why h2o+ cant seriously. so chk the dates when u r buying h2o+ stuff.

Review: Neutrogena Fine Fairness Deep Whitening mask

bought this mask a few mth back to try.. hoping that it can lighten my red scars of coz. i always dont understand why watson sell it at $30 for a box of 5, but promo can be as cheap as $2.95/pc. who will go buy the box ones? yea, i noe its some marketing strategy.. but the promo is q often.

i will choose to buy @ guardian cos its selling @ $2.50, cheaper than watson haa! btw, watson is having promo again.. those who wan can go grab it @ $2.95.. their new hydro boost range mask is selling @ $2.5 @ guardian too. i bought 1 to try hehe.

back to my review.

Pros: the amt of essence in the mask is just nice, wont drip all over the place, nt too little as well. fragrance is q ok too face do look brighter aftr masking. face seems to be less oily than usual this morning, even better than when i use oil control mask, q puzzled when its a whitening mask nt acne mask haha.

Cons: my forehead area is abit itchy while masking. well since there aint new zits found on my face today, i shall forgive it then. my face don feel v hydrated & soft after usage.

Verdict: $2.95/pc, i wil expect better results to be frank. 6/10. ive nv tried many whitening mask b4, so mayb i was expecting too much. moreover, i tnk for whitening, i believe we need to be v hardwking, 1time usage shldnt make a big diff, i tnk with prolonged usage then i can gauge better if the mask is effective or nt. i still have a few pc with me, shall see if tis mask can impress me.

几个月前买了这款面膜，希望能淡化那些红红的痘印。在Watson能买到，一盒$30/5片，有时也能找到单片装，$2.95。但我通常会选择在Guardian买，那里单片才卖$2.5哈哈。

结论：

面膜里的精华液含量刚好，味道也不会太多，敷完后脸确实看起来比较亮白。隔天脸也没这么油，比我那些控油的面膜还好。

但是敷的时候，额头有点痒，但因为隔天没冒出新的痘痘，所以就算了。脸并没有太滋润。

评分：

6/10 面膜$2.95, 我期待看到更好的效果。我没用过很多美白的面膜，所以可能是自己对这款面膜的要求过高。但我相信，若要变白，一定要有决心和耐心。用一次大概不会看到太大的效果，一定要持久地用才能知道是否有效果。

Review: Lip Balm ShowDown - Vaseline vs Mary Kay vs Ettusais vs Anna Sui

after trying countless of lip balms, i decide to write a review & compare the current 4 lip balms that ive with me right now. by the way, ive VVVV dry lips if you noticed.

the contestants are:

1) Vaseline lip therapy (advanced formula)
2) Mary kay satin lips lip balm
3) Ettusais lip essence spf 18 PA++
4) Anna sui lip balm

i will be naming them according to their initials as follows: (1V) (2MK) (3E) (4AS)

Round1: Price & Quantity!

(1v) $3.90, 10g. (2mk) $20, 8g. (3e) $26, 8g. (4AS) $30, 16g.

as you can see, if u were to compare, (1v) is definitely gonna be the cheapest of all! 2nd shld be (4AS) :)

Round 2: Packaging!

do i need to say more?!! (4AS) of coz! 2nd would be (3E).

Round 3: Convenience & tip design (the part which touches my lips)

as you can see, (1V) (2MK)(3E) are in tube while (4AS) is in a tub. for the tip design, (2MK) & (3E) have the same tip design shown below:

(1V) has the round tip design. For (4AS), Ive to use a lip brush to apply, using hands is q impossible, wont be able to pick up enough balm for the lips & it will be unhygenic as well. so for this round, obviously (2MK) & (3E) are the winners.

round 4: scent

they are all fragrance free except (4AS) if im not wrong. (4AS) has a rose scent, my fave! (3E) is fragrance free, but it does smell nice too for some reason haha, mebbe its bcos of the ingredient. (1V) & (2MK) are petroleum based so they dont really smell nice. so obviously, (4AS) is my 1st & (3E) will be my 2nd

Round5: Texture & Effects

(1V) can be q hard to spread on the lips, not as watery as compared to (2MK).

(2mK) will be most watery of all, and its very watery! this makes application much smoother and easier, and u wont even feel u are wearing sth! but it can be hard to control the amount applied as well due to this texture. after applying, lips looks fuller cos of the watery feel, but looks most healthy! after a while, the lips tend to absorb in the balm though, so the watery effect dont last v long.

(3E) is in between the 2 above. its the most glossy among the 4 as well. i rmb JX once commented that my lips look oily, probably i applied too much or wad =.= the essence is abit sticky too. the +point is that its the only one with sun protection! but i realised whenever i apply this lipbalm, it always form a white layer (i suppose is dead skin) on my lips another friend experienced this too, pretty ugly i feel!

(4AS) the texture is just right, not sure if its between im using a brush though. the gloss is just right too!

for effects & texture wise, i prefer (2MK) the most! 2nd will be (4AS).

Round 6: Moisturising

(1V) is the most moisturising of all for my super dry lips! for the 2nd placed, i cant decide between this 2.. so its a draw between (4AS) & (3E)

RESULT: Anns Sui won!!! Reasonably priced, pretty, nice scent & Quite moisturising. lol. 2nd runner up is Vaseline! there is a close fight between (1V) & (2MK) by the way.. BUT, if ur lips aint that dry, go for (2MK)! the watery, healthy & natural looking effects is really great!


这几年试过许多唇膏，所以决定让家里的4支唇膏一较高下！本人的嘴唇是属于非常干燥型的。

要对决的4支护唇膏是：

1）Vaseline (凡士林）Advanced formula，简称 (1V)
2) Mary kay satin lips lip balm 简称 (2MK)
3) Ettusais （艾杜纱） 唇部修护精华 spf 18 PA++ 简称(3E)
4) Anna sui 安娜苏 , 简称 (4AS)


第一局 ：价位和容量

(1v) $3.90, 10g. (2mk) $20, 8g. (3e) $26, 8g. (4AS) $30, 16g.

一看就知道，凡士林是最便宜的！第二是安娜苏。

第二局：包装

这还用说吗？！当然是安娜苏啦！第二是艾杜纱。

第三局：方便和款式 （这里指的是碰触嘴唇的地方）

(1V) (2MK)(3E) 都是一支支的，只有(4AS)是罐装型。而(2MK)(3E) 的设计有点不同（看以上的图片），比起（1VS)那圆圆的设计，它们用起来更方便。而(4AS)还得配合小刷子使用，不然的话有手会很不卫生。

所以这局是 (2mk)(3E)获胜。

第四局：香味

除了(4AS)，其他3支都是无添加香料。(4AS)有淡淡的玫瑰香味，是我的最爱。虽然(3E)没有添加任何香料，但闻起来还不错。

第五局：质地和效果

(1V)会因为没那么“水”，所以涂起来没那么顺。

(2MK) 水水的，涂起来超方便！但可能在控制分量方面会比较困难。涂了之后，嘴唇看起来更丰满，看起来很健康，自然。但是这效果不持久，嘴唇感觉会被吸收掉。

(3E) 涂了之后，嘴唇亮亮的，很像唇密，但是有点粘粘。但是朋友曾经对我说过我的嘴唇涂完后看起来油油的，不知道是不是涂太多了。但是这款是唯一有防晒功能的。值得注意的是，每次涂这款护唇精华液都会在我的嘴唇留下白白一层的死皮，很难看。

(4AS) 质地和效果都很不错，涂完后也亮亮的。

这一局，我比较偏向(2MK)。第二是(4AS)。

第六局：滋润程度

(1V)是最滋润的，第二名，（3E) 和 (4AS)打成平手。


结论：

(4AS)赢了! 价格合理，包装漂亮，香香的，也蛮滋润。第二名是(1V)。其实(1V)和(2MK)竞争和激烈，但最后我还是选择(1V)。但如果你的嘴唇不是太干，(2MK)也是不错的选择，水水的效果真的蛮好看。

Review: Purederm Pearl Essence Mask

pretty packaging right! i Love the bottle shaped, and the very ‘glowy’ picture in the background. their illuminating arbutin & green tea mask are v pretty too! bought this mainly bcos i tnk its lovely haha.

its selling for $1.95 at watsons. Sasa has them too, but limited choices and slightly more expensive, at $2.5/pc.

the sheet mask is believed to be made from 100% pulp, which prevent skin trouble & close adhesion to our skin. well, this is q true cos the mask fits my face q well, the size is juz right too. the material is slightly diff fr my usual masks, feel smoother in texture & the thickness of the sheet is juz nice.

Essence is moderate and the scent is normal, pretty similar to skinlite (the other korean mask that im using). i tnk cos they added in fragrance, so they all smell somewhat similar =.= No detection of alcohol.

Result:
this mask seems to have soothing effect since my zits looks less red after masking. however, i dont really see brightening effect. my face juz feel soft & smooth, not sure if its the mask or bcos i exfoliated b4 applying this mask. the hydrating effect is so-so, so if u have dry skin or looking for sth more moisturising, i would suggest you go for silk whitia instead. but if u are looking for sth light, this might be gd. No sticky feeling after usage & dint give me any zits the next day too.

Verdict: 5.5/10. the half mark comes fr the pretty packaging lol. with $1.95, there are better masks like silk whitia in the market.


很漂亮的包装。瓶装型的，很特别。当初买这款面膜很大部分是为了它的包装。 我也买了这款的Green Tea 和 illuminating arbutin. 在本地的Watson和Sasa能买到，不过watson比较便宜，$1.95/片，Sasa则卖$2.5/片。

面膜是100% pulp，敷贴性确实不错。质地也满滑，不会像有些面膜一样薄薄的。 这款面膜添加了香料，但还好味道还算“正常”。面膜的精华液分量一般，无酒精含量。

结论： 面膜似乎有舒缓效果，敷完后痘痘没那么红肿了，也不会有粘粘的感觉，隔天用完也没新的痘痘。但我没看到应有的亮白效果，脸只是觉得蛮滑蛮嫩的，但我不排除是因为我刚去角质的缘故。保湿效果一般，所以如果皮肤是干的，或需要很滋润的面膜，这款大概不会太合适。

评分：5.5/10 那半分基于包装漂亮哈哈。满足了我个人的视觉效果，但$1.95其实还可以买到更物有所值的面膜。

Review: Skinvitals H-Revive Mask

well, since i really love their T-purify, i decided to give their H-revive, hoping to get good results from it too.

same as t-purify, its selling at 3 for $9.90 a box at watsons, but at certain watson outlets u can get it at $2.95/pc.

on the pack, it states that the mask contains moisturising honey, anti-oxidant grapeseed oil, collagen, hydrating castor been oil & skin strenghtening wine extract. no added fragrance & alcohol.

the material of the mask is really good & smooth, though its slighly big, but probably bcos the mask is soaked with q a bit of essence and the cloth is really good, it fits my face nicely, even for the areas near my nose. there is a refreshing scent, i think its grapeseed, q mild, i q like it.

Results:
after using, 1 of my zit feel itchy, but it dint leave my face too sticky though. at first, my face feel moisturised, but it dint make my face feel smooth and soft enough. but after a couple of hours, my face dont feel as moisturised already.
i was once again disappointed with this mask. i bought it at first cos it was rated as the most moisturising mask at women’s wkly magazine. so i kinda pin high hopes on it..

Verdict: 4/10 i failed it cos for a mask tts nearly $3, i expect better results.


由于我对T-purify很满意，所以也很期待这品牌的H-Revive（滋润面膜），希望效果也一样好。

同样的，它能在Watson买到，3片$9.90,有时也会有促销，一片卖$2.95。

上述（英文）也提及了面膜主要成分，这款面膜无酒精，无香料。

面膜的质地很柔软，很不错，但有点大。不过可能是因为面膜真的有很多精华液，所以敷贴性还算不错。此外，面膜也有淡淡的味道，闻起来很清新，我蛮喜欢的。

结论：敷完后，其中一个痘痘觉得痒痒的，但还好面膜没有留下太油腻的感觉，脸很快就吸收了精华液。 刚开始，脸确实觉得很滋润，但却没有那种柔软和滑滑的感觉。 过了几个小时后，脸就不觉得滋润了，之前保湿的效果似乎消失了。 感觉很失望，当初买它是因为在杂志上看到它得奖，被选为最滋润的面膜，但没想到效果这么不理想。

评分：4/10 决定给予它这么低的评价是因为面膜价位算蛮贵的，但效果却不怎么样。

Review: Bio-essence Tanaka White Ultimate whitening & All spots fading Cream

Got this spot fading cream during BHG 20% sale.. they always have such 20% discount at watsons, BHG and even NTUC, so only get their items when they are having promo! usual is around $38, after discount is around $32!

Ingredients (I dint list all of them cos its quite long hehe): Mineral oil, collagen amino acids, titanium oxide, white tea leaf extract, ginseng extract, BHA, methylparaben, urea, fragrance

as stated in the pdt name, its a cream. would have prefer it to be more watery actually.. but well, this cream is quite light, and my skin was able to absorb it almost instantly, no sticky feeling after applying. was rather pleased with this.

Results:
It does lighten 2 of my scars (which is q new, a couple of mths old only), especially the 1 near the temple. as for the darker one near my cheek, it does lighten a little but tak much longer to see result. and its still v far fr ‘disappearing’. so if u are looking for fast results, u can skip this.

for a spot lightening cream that cost $30, rather affordable, dint give me zits and produces results, its worth a try i feel. the tube is so huge, i tnk it can last me more than 1yr too.

Moreover my main concern is the No-ZITS part.. =p some of the whitening pdts out there in the market can be so strong that it causes bumps on our faces.

Verdict: 7.5/10

我是在BHG大减价时购买的，bio-essence常常有20%折扣，在BHG, Watson甚至NTUC也常有20%折扣。原价大概是$35.9，打完折扣约$30。

上述提及了产品的主要成分。

就如产品的名称，这款其实是膏状，我个人其实更希望它是凝胶状。出乎意料，这美白膏其实一点也不油腻，皮肤蛮容易吸收，涂完后也没有粘粘的感觉。

结论：
它确实淡化了我2个痘疤（痘疤蛮新的，几个月而已），尤其是靠近太阳穴那个。比较深的痘印则需要更长的时间才看到效果。所以如果想要很快就能看到效果的人，就不必考虑这款了。
这款脸膏用了2个多星期，没让我冒出新痘痘，效果虽然慢了点，但它确实淡化了痘疤，让我相当满意。价位也合理，这么大一支大概一年也用不完，相当划算，值得一试。

评分：7.5/10
