Hong Kong Skincare & Cosmetics Price List!

Yes, Im back from my Hong Kong trip!

As usual, lots of loots from HK =p

I've previously wrote a post on buying skincare & cosmetics in HK a few months back, I will do a update on the prices and stuff available in HK now.

I will start with stuff @ Sasa first. I've learnt my lession from my previous trip, ALWAYS go SASA 1st before shopping @ HK departmental stores. Sasa is always cheaper!

Here's a rough guide to some of the items sold @ hk sasa:

- L'occitane cherry blossom hand cream 30ml @ hkd60 ( sgd10). The loccitane shop in HK is selling 3 30ml for 210hkd.
- Biotherm 360deg eye roll on @ 232hkd (40sgd). singapore is selling it @ $69!
- Shu Uemura cleansing oil 500ml @ 440hkd ( sgd70+)
- laneige sleeping mask @ hkd158 ( sgd30+)
- elizabeth arden 8hr handcream, 30ml tube @ hkd120 ( sgd20)
- h20+ oasis @ less than hkd300 ( less than sgd50)
- hada labo masks x4 @ hkd72 ( sgd12)
- kosa capsule mask x4 @ hkd10
-sofymo eye remover 230ml @ hkd56

Now, loccitane handcream, h20+, elizabeth arden perfume & handcream can be found in Sasa.

Silk whitia is rather expensive in HK. I still think the $1.95/pc offer in Sg is cheaper. Sasa in hk seems to have more taiwan & Japanese masks as compared to korean masks i feel. They have sexylook, kracie ( not the ones that are available in sg), my beauty diary, ELG, hada labo, aqau moist, hisamitsu, silk whitia, clear turn, mandom beauty, skinlite. They dont have alot of Jap masks actually.. so for this trip, I stocked up my mandom beauty (new formula).

The lucky me met the SOGO xmas sale again! I met the anniversary sale in May too haha.

- Paul & Joe lipstick @ hkd162
-shu uemura limited edition brush travel set ( takomo set thats released this season!) @ hkd420 ( sgd70 only!! Sg is selling @ $120!! changi airport terminal 1 selling @ sgd 102)

As usual, the price diff for shiseido items in HK is not big compared to SG. I think its almost the same price there even when sgd is strong now.

Origins is found in HK too. From causeway bay mtr station to Sogo, origins can be found on the way there. Clear improvement + drink up mask + out of trouble package is only selling @ hkd415 ( sgd70)! single tube is hkd210.

I found the highly raved bioderma @ hk guardian too! I saw from cosme that their makeup remover is very popular in taiwan.. so when I saw the xmas package i just cant resist it! 3 bottles ( 100ml, 250ml, 500ml) is retailing @ hkd299 ( sgd50)!! a single bottle of 500ml costs hkd240. I was rather skeptical about it cos that package was totally too good to be true. So i went on to check the expiry date, only to know that it expired in 2013. So i went ahead to buy it :)

Sofina is available @ sogo too. They are famous for their sunblocks..

All in all, below are the brands which are available and cheaper to get in HK than in SG:

- Anna Sui
- Ettusais
- biotherm
-h2o+
-shu uemura
-paul & joe (some items)
-clinique
-laneige
-loccitane
-origins
-kanebo

Fancl Fresh 5th Issue

My stupid brother woke me up from my beauty sleep, I cant get back to sleep anymore. So here I am, blogging about how wonderful Fancl is haha. Sidetrack a little, I dont understand it when he chose to play the guitar ( in strips =.= horizontal stripes top & vertical strips boxers >.<, what a combination!) rather than starting his work earlier. Wierd brother huh!

alright, enough of the grumbles.

I was back home late yestersday and was surprised to see a large envelope with the word Fancl printed on it. Then I realise it must be the fresh issue! I took it on my way home earlier today and dint expect them to mail a copy to me! This is what i call service! :) So sweet of them, thumbs up! Made me feel privileged as their member.

Watsons sent a SMS some time ago telling me that I am entitled to a copy of the current glow magazine cos i spent a minimum amount there. till now, i still dint receive it. Emailed them twice and they dint bother to reply. Call the number written in front of the cashier, stating that thats the customer service number but that number dint even get through. What kinda rubbish is this! So you can imagine my face when experiences with both are so different. Its not about the magazine, its about service seriously. I can be quite particular about this at times.

Love the simple yet elegant fresh cover :) Its their 5th issue so far. I only knew about Fresh when they are at their 2nd issue. Very informative articles as compared to most beauty magazines, explaining why certain skin problems seem to be bugging us etc.

Fresh discuss about whitening, pore problem, wrinkles & hydration (Hyaluronic Aicd) in this issue. Explained very clearly about the ingredients they have in respective products which help to combat different skin problems, adding in some beauty tips here and there. They also have a make up corner teaching us the different ways of applying make up :) I like it when they engage their readers by having Q&A corner, interactive hub and voting in every issue too. I won myself washing powder with puff (for voting my best travel friendly product) and a box of tense up (sharing tips on anti-aging) in their 3rd issue. :) They sent me the washing powder wrapped up securely in box. They even delivered me the tense up ( I can even decide the best timing! ) to my doorstep.. I was so impressed with their service seriously.

Since its their 10th Anniversary in SG, we are 'granted' a wish! haha. By making a purchase of at least $50 between 23 july and 26 aug, we will be able to tell Fancl our wishes (related to FAncl) and the 10 most interesting entries will have their wishes granted :) Interesting hur.. lol. To know more about other promotions going on in aug, just log on to their website will do.

I'm happy to see Fancl becoming eco-friendly too! By saying no to paper bag with every purchase, we will receive a 10cents rebate which may be offset against our next purchase :) Hopefully the tense up packaging can be changed to something more environment friendly as well.

Get your free copy at any of the Fancl outlets and get to know your skin better today. I love fancl! haha. i'm like advertising them lol. well, I dont know why, i am just crazy over fancl, miao should know hehe.

Metro Storewide 20% Sale!

Its Metro sale again!

Metro has storewide 20% sale (including skincare & cosmetics) quite frequently, once every 2-3 months. Their 20% is on rebate vouchers form, as in if the item cost $10, i will get a $2 voucher that has no expiry date. I can use the voucher at all metro stores, on all items, including those on sale. I can use more than 1 voucher on a item too. moreover, i can use the voucher immediately, upon next payment ( on the same day i received the voucher). And the 20% voucher is based on item before discount (meaning item usual price), not the discounted price (after voucher offset). so this makes the sale very worth going.

Do pay with UOB cards, since there is additional 2% rebate stored in your card. then i can use the rebate anytime, anywhere, even on moive tickets :)

1 tip when going such sale is the way you use your rebate voucher. Do not pay your stuff in a single receipt, pay those more expensive ones first, then use the rebate from these items to offset the cheaper items. Then, you will be left with 1 voucher thats of the least amt :) so even if i bought stuff that cost me hundred over, the rebate im left with at the end of the day is always under $4. well, this depends on the last item (cheapest of all items u bought on that day) that i paid too of cos. This way, i can see the 20% saved, rather than in rebate vouchers i feel haha.

another tip is to go with a friend. so that even if you buy only 1 item, your rebate voucher can be used on your friend's items, and at the end of the day, you guys can spilt the remaining 1 voucher.

when we're going crazy over the sale, do remember to check the expiry dates of the items you bought! I was careless today, and realised my kanebo eye shadow is made 1 yr ago! :(

Beauty Bargains at AMK Central

A couple of years ago, i found out 3 shops at amk central that sell really cheap beauty stuff.

All located at amk central, near the mac outside ang mo kio hub. These shops are found along the stretch there. They are Venus (also found at boon lay mrt station), pink beauty (found in tpy central, west mall) & spring.

From my past experiences, its usually the fight between pink beauty & venus for value buy. Drugstore brands such as ginvera, loreal, bio-essence, neutrogena, simple, vaseline can be found there. Products ranging from hair, body and facial stuff. Counter brands such as estee lauder, biotherm, clinique, sk2, clarins & kose can be found @ pink beauty. Even salon brands such as Redken, kerastase can be found at venus & pink beauty. Something that surprises me is that even imported japan brands such as kracie masks can be found at venus and pink beauty. Perfumes such as anna sui, DKNY and versace can be found in pink beauty.

Well, i only buy my drugstore stuff from these shops so far. for eg, i bought my simple cleansing wipes there and they dint give me any problems. As for the counter brands, im not so sure if its authentic since i dint buy there. what i can assure you is the price haha. Its really cheap, at least 20%! the price diff can be understand since hk pricing is also very cheap.

There is watsons & guardian nearby these beauty shops, so do remember to chk them out as well, there are times when watsons and guardian are cheaper, esp when they have discounts and sales.

Do check the manufactured dates when you buy. sometimes when the price diff is so big till its hard to believe, check the dates. take those at the back of the rack, cos tts where they put those thats manufactured later ;)

Update: The distributor for versace perfume at pink beauty is the same as the 1 found at metro. so i guess that means the perfume is authentic haha!
